I’ve been a ‘back end’ consultant for most of my professional life. I started out with (back end) ABAP development and gradually moved over to (back end) BW development…and later on to Project Management, but that’s less relevant for this blog post. Even though I’m aware of the fact that a proper front-end tool is THE key to success and business adaptation, I’d always much rather spent my time in creating lean and highly optimal data models then in creating beautiful reports.

But as stepping out of your comfort zone is the best way to learn and grow, I’d took on a personal challenge around X-mas time last year when I was asked to be a reviewer for an upcoming book on SAP BO Dashboards.

And here we are. Almost 7 months later I can proudly mention that I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned a lot about SAP BO Dashboards (by executing all the exercises listed in the book I was reviewing), I’ve learned a lot about the reviewing process and I’ve learned that tight reviewing deadlines not always go hand-in-hand with a busy professional- and personal life. But, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

So, without further ado, I herewith proudly present the end result of my reviewing activities of the last 7 months:
